PROJECTS + INITIATIVES

Our initiatives and projects are directly related to our daily work and to our goal of inspiring the development and adoption of innovative programs, processes and strategies in the human services field. To deliver outstanding services to the New Yorkers we serve, and to remain at the vanguard of grassroots community building in NYC, we have set our sights on several bold endeavors.

Though ambitious, our plans to launch a new strategic vision, create impact both broader and deeper, and drive bold reform and innovation spanning the social services pipeline from early learning to old age are all attainable. The following projects and initiatives are a few of the things that exemplify our commitment to an innovative agenda.

Essex Crossing

Grand St. Settlement is proud to be the lead community partner of this unprecedented development comprised of residential, commercial and community space. This project brings both great honor and responsibility, as the City of New York has entrusted to us its commitment to building opportunities and expanding resources for our community. Take a look to see how we’ll use communal space and social enterprise to introduce excitement and innovation to Essex Crossing.

Early Head Start – Child Care Partnership

In early 2015, at the White House Summit on Early Education, President Obama named Grand St. Settlement a leader in the field of early education, honoring us with a multi-million dollar opportunity to share our expertise with other education and care providers. We are thrilled to begin our Early Head Start – Child Care Partnership, part of a $1 Billion national effort to support a continuum of early learning opportunity from birth through kindergarten entry.
