Applications are open for Summer Camp and Summer Rising programs for youth in New York City!

Grand St. Settlement has provided high-quality summer programs since 1907 when our founder, Rose Gruening, formed Camp Moodna in Mountainville, New York. Today, over 6,000 young people attend our day camps throughout New York City.

Summer Rising (K-8) is a mixture of a traditional day camp with creative activities, field trips, and outdoor recreation combined with academic programming designed to support children’s education in a relaxed environment. Programs are hosted at schools throughout the City with academic support in the mornings provided by certified teachers and enrichment programs in the afternoon provided by community based organizations like Grand Street.

Summer Camp (K-12) is hosted at Grand Street’s community centers throughout New York City. Participants enjoy enrichment activities rooted in STEAM (science, technology, engineering, art, and math) to allow youth to explore their passions. 

This year’s theme is Science Superheroes: Powering Up! Campers will become superheroes-in-training and discover how real-world science can create their very own superpowers! Youth will explore physics, chemistry, and engineering to solve challenges and become their very own superheroes.
